Three Streams: What’s it all about?
As the subtitle says, ‘Three streams that are desperately needed in the church today are Biblical Theology, Prophetic utterance and Evangelical Proclamation’.

Yet even this doesnt fully grasp what it is this blog is about. You could include under the banner of ‘prophetic utterance’ (or perhaps replace prophetic utterance with) ‘The continued demonstration of the power, presence and gifts of the Holy Spirit’.
You could also say Three streams is about Restoration, Revival, and Reformation. These three things need to take place in the body of Christ today, we could debate which one needs to happen first, however all three are needed. Lets look at them individually.

Restoration
There needs to be a restoration of Truth, throughout Israel’s history the people of God neglected/rejected and compromised the Truth of God’s Holy Word. The N.T prophecies that in the last days ‘many will abandon the faith and give heed to decieving spirits and doctrines of demons’. In other words many in the church will reject/neglect/pervert/compromise the truth of God’s Holy Word, in particular the Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This Blog is of the view the body of Christ, at large, needs Truth to be restored.
Someone once said ‘If your all Word with no Holy Spirit you will dry up, If you are all ‘Spirit’ and no Word you will ‘Blow up’, however with the Word and the Spirit you will grow up’. Thre are enough Pharisees and Sadducees in the Christian circuit that some are tempted (some have abandoned) to dismiss doctrine altogether. This is not God’s pattern, God desires us to be grounded in the Truth of His word but at the same time to soar in the Spirit. The book of Acts demonstrates what the church should look like. Three Streams is not a cessationist movement, more than ever the church needs the reviving power, presence and gifts of the Holy Spirit. The church of Jesus Christ in these last days needs the reviving power of the Spirit.

Any student of revival can tell you that while revival brings wonderful times of blessings and refreshing to the church, very often it quickly surpasses and you may find that the community which was once revived is now in a poorer state than it was at first. I believe, inorder for revival to be sustained, obedience must be maintaned’. In other words restoration of Truth and the reviving of the church must lead to reformation: that is the abandonment of church practices that are unbiblical and the reintroduction of practices that are biblical. In this area the church would do well to study the works of the reformers, Three Streams is commited to the theological foundations which were built by the forerunners of the reformation.
This is only a snippet of what this blog is about. I do not claim to be a prophet, we have enough self appointed internet prophets already. However I do believe Three Streams has a prophetic edge, I say this because I believe it is part of the reformation that God is already begining in His church. Many are being awakened to the truths and power of God’s word. This is something that will continue to take place until the Lord Jesus returns.
